Hekla Energy has signed a PPA agreement for the purchase of all energy from the wind farms Namysłów and Elbląg, with a total capacity of 30 MW. The wind farm in Namysłów is located in the southern part of Poland, in the Opole Voivodeship, while the Elbląg farm is situated in the northeastern part of the country, in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in the village of Tolkowiec.
The wind farms were commissioned in 2014 and 2015, respectively, and belong to the special-purpose fund Enern Renewables, which focuses on investments in green energy. The contract will provide Hekla with deliveries of over 80 thousand MWh annually, which corresponds to the annual energy consumption of nearly 40 thousand households. The contracted energy will supply institutional and business clients of the company.
“The contract for the purchase of energy from the wind farms in Tolkowiec and Namysłów is another step for Hekla Energy towards a more sustainable future. The sale of energy in the PPA formula ensures supply security for our end customers, while allowing renewable energy producers to achieve stable and predictable revenue from the produced green energy,” comments Sebastian Iwaniec, PPA Manager at Hekla Energy.
