There are days at Hekla Energy when you come home tired, with paint on your clothes and faces, but above all with the feeling that you have done something truly worthwhile. Our day at Fundacja Pociechom was one of those days.
We swapped laptops for paintbrushes
For one day, we left our desks, computers, invoices and contracts behind and picked up paintbrushes, rollers and ladders instead. The goal was simple: to work together to refresh a small building used for activities and therapy sessions for children with disabilities.
Our relationship with Fundacja Pociechom began with Gienek, our virtually adopted “Professor of the Energy Market”. Over time, however, we wanted to go beyond financial support and become more directly involved. So when the Foundation reached out with an opportunity to help repaint the building, we were happy to join in. Days like this are a great reminder of how much can be achieved when people come together around a shared purpose.
Fundacja Pociechom is a unique green space located close to the heart of Warsaw. More importantly, it is a place created with great care for children with disabilities and their families.
About Fundacja Pociechom
The Foundation provides free activities and therapy sessions, and its ability to continue and expand this work depends largely on financial support as well as the involvement of people willing to contribute their time, skills and expertise.
There are many ways to help — through donations, virtual adoptions and volunteering, but also simply by showing up and giving your time. This time, that was how we chose to contribute.
Together, we can achieve more
We are fortunate to work with people who are willing to share not only their professional knowledge and experience, but also their time and energy to support something that matters. At Hekla Energy, energy is part of our everyday work. This day reminded us that energy can also mean people coming together, supporting one another and being willing to take action for others.
Sometimes, just a few hours, a few paintbrushes and a group of committed people are enough to make a real difference. We are grateful that we had the opportunity to spend this day with Fundacja Pociechom, and we hope it will be the first of many initiatives we take part in together.
We often say that we can achieve more when we work together. It is especially meaningful to see that this idea extends beyond our day-to-day business and into the way we support the communities around us.
