Hekla Energy and EEZ have signed a PPA agreement for the supply of energy from the Tymień wind farm

Hekla Energy and EEZ Sign Long-Term PPA for Energy from the Tymień Wind Farm

Hekla Energy, one of the largest independent green energy suppliers in Poland, has signed a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with EEZ – the owner of one of the country’s largest wind farms. Under the agreement, Hekla Energy will purchase 100% of the electricity generated by the 48 MW Tymień wind farm.

This strategic agreement further strengthens Hekla Energy’s contracted renewable capacity portfolio. The addition of Tymień will increase the company’s total offtake volume by 4%, marking a significant step in fulfilling its mission to support Poland’s energy transition based on renewable sources.

Electricity produced at Tymień corresponds to the annual consumption of more than 45,000 households. This substantial volume not only increases the share of green energy in the national mix but also contributes to avoiding tens of thousands of tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year.

Wind farms are a cornerstone of Poland’s energy transition. Due to their scale and variable generation profile – which depends on weather conditions – they require advanced forecasting and balancing tools. Hekla Energy has been investing for years in meteorological and trading infrastructure, enabling the company to effectively manage production volatility and offer its partners competitive commercial terms.

“Thanks to our advanced meteorological and trading infrastructure, we were able to propose highly attractive commercial terms under an as-produced formula. This is yet another example that our model of cooperation with renewable energy producers works in practice and delivers real value to both sides,” said Szymon Skóra, Sales Director at Hekla Energy.

The signing of the Tymień PPA underscores the growing importance of private contracts in Poland’s renewable energy sector. Such agreements provide producers with stable revenues and give energy buyers predictable and competitive purchase conditions.

“We are excited to collaborate with another partner who, like us, believes in the power of sustainable energy and the development of a low-carbon economy. This is more than just a contract – it’s a shared step toward a cleaner future,” added Skóra.

This new agreement is fully aligned with Hekla Energy’s long-term strategy of continuously expanding its renewable portfolio, increasing the volume of green energy available to clients, and actively supporting Poland’s energy transition.
