Nearly PLN 10 Million in Savings – Electricity Tender Concluded

Over PLN 9.8 million in savings – that’s how much the Municipal Electricity Purchasing Group of Tychy will gain thanks to the joint tender for the supply of electricity in 2026, involving municipal units and city-owned companies.

In Tychy, the Electricity Purchasing Group of the Municipality of Tychy operates, bringing together several dozen entities that jointly purchase electricity. This cooperative approach makes it possible to obtain more favorable pricing conditions and achieve tangible savings in the budgets of municipal units and companies.

Exactly PLN 9,864,475.53 in savings – this is the amount the Municipal Electricity Purchasing Group will benefit from through the joint tender for electricity supply in 2026. The tender covered electricity purchases for 78 entities, including 68 municipal units, 8 city-owned companies, a facility of the inter-municipal union established by Tychy and Kobiór, and a center of the Polish Association for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities in Tychy.

The total electricity volume amounted to more than 30.7 thousand MWh. The most advantageous offer was submitted by Hekla Energy Sp. z o.o. from Warsaw. The unit price was PLN 454.16 net per MWh (including excise duty), resulting in a total cost of PLN 17.17 million gross for the entire year 2026.

For comparison, in 2025, the price was PLN 715 net per MWh, and the total electricity purchase cost reached PLN 27 million gross. As a result, this joint initiative will reduce expenses by as much as PLN 9.86 million.

“Thanks to the tender and cooperation within the purchasing group, we can effectively negotiate conditions and achieve real savings. These are funds that will remain in the budgets of individual units and can be allocated to other important projects,” emphasizes Maciej Gramatyka, Mayor of Tychy.
